About Core Compassion Project
Core Compassion Project strengthens the body, mind, and spirit through post-rehabilitative Pilates. We seek to help restore strength and mobility to cancer patients and/or survivors in a setting that offers a time to heal mentally and physically.
Breast Cancer survivors are faced with many challenges. Core Compassion believes no one should have to fight these challenges alone. The Core Compassion Project comes alongside those personally affected to rejuvenate their mind, body and soul.
Physically, radiation, surgery and chemotherapy are extremely rough on the body. According to the American Cancer Institute, fatigue is one of the most common and distressing side effects of cancer and its treatment.
Emotionally, cancer can cause one to experience feelings of sadness and fear. The effects can be so paralyzing that it sometimes leaves one unable to perform a regular, daily routine. Exercise is important for everyone, even cancer survivors, so it is crucial to slowly build a fitness regime after cancer to restore good health.
Core Compassion Project provides Pilates scholarships to breast cancer survivors. Every $600 we collect provides one survivor 10 private sessions with a qualified and approved Pilates Instructor who will create a program specific to the recipient’s needs with a goal of encouraging them to gain strength physically and mentally.
