Importance of Neutral Pelvis and Core Cylinder

A neutral pelvis affords you the ability to maintain your joints in their anatomical position while standing, sitting and running. This is challenging for many of us but, we can relearn how to hold our neutral pelvis by utilizing the many benefits of Pilates and, eventually ease back pain and most likely discomfort in other joints.
Julie Jetzer, certified personal trainer specializing in corrective exercise for Diastasis Recti a licensed provider of the Tupler Technique will be joining us and offering her expertise in how to find and active our Core Cylinder. Julie will be utilizing varying somatic movements along with breath to help release tension in areas that effect our ability to find neutral and activate our deepest abdominals. She will be offering free tummy checks to see if you have an opening in your abdominal wall which makes it very difficult to activate the transverse abdominals – a key muscle in holding neutral.
This workshop is for everyone; men just as much as women. Most men do not realize that they too can suffer from Diastasis Recti. It is not just a pregnancy issue.
