Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher

Denise Maffia, NCPT – Denise is a comprehensively trained Pilates teacher, both classical and contemporary. She is an NCPT; Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher. She received her mat certification from Power Pilates in 2003 and started teaching out of her home and local dance studios. She completed her comprehensive certification thru Core Pilates NYC in 2006. She worked at Core as both an instructor and Assistant Studio Manager before moving to Huntersville, NC in 2007. Denise holds a BS in Business Studies from SUNY College at Buffalo. She lives with her husband, her son and their furbabies.
Denise has worked with varying populations and accepts the challenge that each individual client brings to her. She also specializes in client rehabilitation either before or after surgery. She has helped clients avoid surgery altogether and for those that have had surgery helped them return to 100% range of motion thru the affected area.
Pilates Physique offers varying workshops and master classes to enhance your personal Pilates practice and bring awareness to those wanting to learn more about the Pilates Method.
Denise’s commitment to her clientele is evident in the rapport she establishes and in her ability to nurture clients mind, body and spirit. Her expertise has assisted many clients in finding their inner strength and has given them the ability to heal and work on themselves outside the studio environment.
Andrea
Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher

Andrea Haritan, M.Ed., NCPT – has been teaching Pilates in the Charlotte area since 2001. She has also been involved in the fields of fitness and dance for over 30 years as a group fitness instructor, personal trainer, physical education teacher, and dance (classical ballet, modern dance and folk dance) student, performer and teacher. Currently a Nationally Certified Pilates Teacher though the PMA Pilates Certification Program, Andrea has also been certified to teach all levels of Pilates Mat and Equipment by STOTT Pilates, Pilates Reformer by Alternative Fitness, and Pilates Matwork by the PhysicalMind Institute. She has experience and training in teaching individuals with a variety of health issues including back pain, arthritis, pregnancy, osteoporosis, arthritis, and joint replacement. She is always looking for new and creative ways to connect with her students and keep the Pilates method fresh while staying rooted in the original intention of each exercise. Andrea earned a master’s degree in Human Movement from Boston University, focusing on teaching dance to children and fitness to adults. For 10 years Andrea owned and operated her own Pilates Studio in Cornelius, NC and she has also taught Pilates at Alternative Fitness, The University YMCA and The Peninsula Club
